BP Bridge Garden
Designer: Austin Eischeid Garden Design
Installation: Christy Webber Landscapes
Maintenance: Vivant Gardening Services
This 8,200 square foot garden snakes along the western edge of Frank Gehry’s BP Bridge on the east side of Millennium Park, to the northeast entrance of Lurie Garden. The garden’s naturalistic design is meant to contrast the hard, industrial look of the stainless-steel-clad BP Bridge while fitting into the contemporary artistic context of the Park’s other art and architectural works. Not only beautiful, but 50% of the BP Bridge Garden’s plants are also native to the Midwestern United States and support a variety of local birds, insects, pollinators, and other urban wildlife.
