Winter Ice Skating
The McCormick Tribune Ice Rink in Millennium Park, presented by Discover Financial Services®, will open for ice skating from November 15 through February 2, weather permitting. Admission is free, though reservations are required. Reservations can be made starting two weeks prior to each session. For more details and to make reservations, visit Ice Skating at Millennium Park.
The rink offers free “Learn to Skate” lessons, sponsored by the McDonald’s Active Lifestyles Endowment through the Millennium Park Foundation, in partnership with the Chicago Youth Foundation. Lessons, which require reservations, are available for all ages and skill levels—beginner, intermediate, and hockey skills—and will be held on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. between November 16 and February 2, weather permitting. Helmets are strongly encouraged for beginners, and skate rentals are free for lesson participants.
For accessibility, both electric and manual wheelchairs are allowed on the ice when accompanied by a skater. You can receive additional accessibility information by contacting DCASE at [email protected].
Weather-related closures will be posted on Millennium Park’s Facebook and Twitter/X pages.
